Handmade boys gifts

I really prefer giving a handmade gift.

But once the boys get a bit older, I find it hard to make them something they can appreciate and use, and not find too 'babyish'.
They tend to prefer something they can build and smash apart again!!!

My son was invited to three 6-year old boys parties this week.

Here's what I came up with ...

At least I know the mums will appreciate them.

What ideas do you have for gifts for 6-year old boys?

All suggestions muchly appreciated!!!

Andi :-)

Cass made a quilted tic-tac-toe game board sort of thing. That might be fun with bean bags?

the tic tac toe is a great idea!
also, you can make a fabric memory game, or an apron, or a travel pillow, or bunting flags with the bpy's name....
i love what you made, though,....

Hi,
They are a gorgeous birthday present - I am sure they will be appreciated. You are going to be incredibly busy if you are to make all birthday presents in the years to come ...

These look great! J names were certainly popular 6 years ago. I make skull and cross bones library bags, pencil rolls, zippered pouches filled with playing cards. The older they get the more I have to think about it tho.

For quite some time I made aprons for my son's friends 9as well as my daughters) using pirate fabric or other masculine choices.

Now that he is getting older I have caved with the whole home made gift thing. For every party he went to this year, he took along "Rush Hour" - a traffic jam puzzle game for one.

I like your present solution!

I'm resorting to Lego at the moment, maybe we need to invent a Lego bag or similar for presies.

These are cute and a great idea!!.... and remind me a bit of something I have designed for a club pattern that will be released soon... think you may have even used the same note books - LOL! Great mind and great taste thinks alike ;-)

It is really hard to come up with boys gifts. There's plenty for girls. I reckon that pillowcases would be a good gift for boys.

They're great!
I might have to use this idea for a little boy I know.
Thank you for your sweet wishes.
