My very talented niece recently had a birthday.
I didn't quite know what to get for her so after some consultation with her mum and later on with her, it was decided that she needed a cover to protect her ipad when she carries it around in her bag.
She asked for 'red and purple' and my mind immediately went to a gorgeous vintage table cloth in my stash.
I don't have an ipad so Amber's tutorial was invaluable!!
I hope she loves it.
But if she doesn't, I might just have to buy myself an ipad so I can keep it for myself!
Happy birthday Emily Delicious!!

Vintage yumminess!!
The delightful Kel has organised a Vintage Sheet Swap and today I got my LOOT!!!
I hacked into my stash and sent 83 fat quarters (which I neglected to photograph).
Here are some more of my lovely new vintage fat quarters.
And these are my favourites. Earmarked for a quilt for Ella's next birthday.
Thanks lovely Kel for enhancing my stash so beautifully.

Right under their noses
We went to visit some friends in their holiday house recently.
They have 3 adult daughters who call the house "The Op Shop" ... and it is NOT meant as a compliment. What do they know?????
I walked around the house snapping away with my camera, totally in awe at some of the treasures they have hidden away ...
This sideboard has the most inspiring geometric details...
And check out these beauties. So much potential ...
Not to mention this little gem ...
I'm posting these images not only to share with you these fabulous retro treasures, but also so that my friend can show her daughters .... so please leave all your positive (but of course honest) comments for them to read.
Also, here are some fab images I have collected to show them (and you) via the wonder that is flickr.
Hooray for vintage chic!
