Scraps by Denyse!!

I have been looking for a scrappy looking quilt design to use for my "FMF-and-other-DS-fabrics" stash, and I came across this stunning quilt on flickr.

My version will be 6 x 6 blocks, but as I have only made 6 blocks so far, I've used an online mosaic maker to mock up a possible end result.

It will need a bit of tweaking but I think I'm going to LOVE this quilt.
(Ella has already laid claim to it too).

Another scrapalicious quilt!!
Have you heard I'm going to be teaching all about scrappy quilt making? Check it out here!!

Fonts

A few people mistook the writing on my last post for my own handwriting.
When they found out it was actually printed from the computer, they wanted to know what fonts I was using.

Thought I'd share my little secret here:
http://www.dafont.com/

Quite literally a font of goodness with thousands of FREE fonts to explore.

The fonts I have used in this project include:

  • Miama
  • Jellyka - St-Andrew's Queen
  • Sunshine in my soul
  • MA Sexy
  • The Quickest Shift ... and
  • Upirpaw
Have fun exploring this fabulous resource.

Back to quilting!!

Feels like a while since I've posted about a quilt.

So here's my latest quilty finish ...

It's a wall hanging for my sewing room.

I found the images for each block using this Flickr tool, then printed each image onto fabric sheets.
Easy DIY fabric designs!!!

I enjoyed hand quilting this one too!

I've called it "Flickr Flowers".

Hope you have a great weekend.
I will be flat out in bed trying to shake off a persistent lurgy!!!

Happy stitching!

Fun online time wasters.

I have just read this post telling about this service where you can search for images on flickr according to colour.

Well, that was fun!!

But then I used this site to make this gorgeous collage.

Thinking about turning it into a proper quilt using these.
