Last week I got to have a catch-up with this wonderful lady. Turns out she's as lovely as she is talented. I really enjoyed our chat and was totally inspired by these .....
... which I got to see IN THE FLESH!!!
The detail in the cushions is exquisite. The quilting so beautiful!
According to Kellie, "it's really easy".
So, inspired by her confidence in me, I went home and had a little try.
I ended up with this little cushion ...
It is my first attempt at 'trapunto' which wasn't so hard after hearing how Kellie does it.
This is the back ...
.... and here is a shot with my hand so you can see that it is rather small.
A lot more practice is needed but I'm enjoying the learning process.
And to top it all off, I got to meet this little man too ....
What a sweetie! I just wanted to bundle him up and take him home!
Until next time, keep practicing. I will!!
good on you for having a go - I am way too scared too! I used to do trapunto by hand, not by machine! Glad you are enjoying and it looks great. I am sure you will be able to master it quite easily.
go you! looks great. need to learn trapunto. Did you quilt boobies?
